Color Inspiration

You're wearing shorts? That must be nice. I wore four layers of clothing today.

Despite dressing for the Arctic winds that blew through our neck of the woods, I was pleased to put together an ourfit around a color combination that I got from, wait for it...a bottle of wine. I'm not a 'wine' person per se (I prefer a Becks or a pink drink rimmed with sugar), but I love picking out new wines in the shop. I'm a label shopper. Whichever one catches my eye and is even remotely the right color (I don't care for reds), I will choose it.

Plus, this one said "cupcake" on it, and what could be better than that?

Sweater: Banana Republic (thrifted), Scarf: n/l (thrifted), Shirt: GAP Favorite Tee (which is, incidentally, my favorite kind of tee), Pants: Liz Claiborne (thrifted), Shoes: Keen
That last picture illustrates the correct way to stylishly chatter your teeth as you freeze because you forgot to wear gloves.

  1. LOVE Cupcake wine!!!! Sending sunshine your way!!! -Cathy

  2. Today was the FIRST day I didn't have to wear layer upon later in order to not freeze. Hello, May, please stay a while. Except the temperature is supposed to drop again tomorrow. Ugh.

I love the pop of yellow. Even more fun that you match the bottle, haha. Also, the stripes are a definite win.

  3. Awwww! Sorry you are dealing with such cold weather. I am sending warm thoughts your way!
That is a great sweater. With the pop of bright color I can picture the sun making an appearance :)

  4. I LOVE Cupcake wine, too! It's delicious. I'm really tired of the cold up here, too. But you look so cheery, despite the chill! I need to follow your lead and break out fun colors. Maybe we can entreat the sun if we dress for summer? Here's hoping!

  5. Love love the color combination! Very nautical and right up my alley!

  6. I love the yellow. If spring doesn't come to you, you can bring it to Canon, darn it! And, per the close-up picture in this post, I love your hair long.

I love to hear from you!
