I am from California. I grew up with horses and raised sheep for 4-H, and I thought I was "a little bit country" until I moved here. These guys put me to shame. They ARE country. So when my track girls gave me this belt last night as a thank-you for being their coach, I nearly died. I've been coveting the Nocona and Atlas belts for years, but never really felt cowgirl enough to buy one.
I still ride on the weekends, but have never barrel raced. (It's on my list.) But when a couple of real cowgirls give you a belt that screams bling, you feel a little bit awesome wearing it. Proud doesn't even describe it. It may be gaudy to some, and over-the-top to others...but it is perfect to me.

Your pictures are always SO great!!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the belt! How sweet are your students. Maybe I'm sappy, but I got a little teary-eyed. When students give you something that special, it means that YOU are very deserving. You rock! :)

I think you rock that belt just fine, you know. That's so adorable that your students got it for you (makes it even cooler than before).
ReplyDeleteBeautiful ensemble. :) I think the belt makes a wonderful statement. Even for all the bling, it still seems subtle, not showy. Those girls did good picking it out!
ReplyDeleteYou will never forget that moment when the girls gave you that precious belt. It is darling and it looks so pretty on you. We both know its more than just a belt, bravo teacher.
ReplyDeleteHow sweet of the students! It's a beautiful belt and it looks great on you!
